#enough
another spring
another summer
still nothing is done
instead hatred
breeds violence
while injustice serves none
how many brothers
how many sisters
how many husbands and wives
how many until we count
each and every single life
as worthy
as equal
as more than transient beings
how many until we stand up
against senseless brutality
what kind of world do we live in
where guns have more rights
than people deemed expendable
their losses justified
blood in the streets
blood in the schools
blood on each of our hands
as we fail to do
something
anything
standing silent again
